I just had my team check the vehicle is not stolen.
DPW will double check to determine if it meets the criteria to be considered an abandoned automobile.

Sorry, but are the Maryland plates your only reason for assuming the car is abandoned or does not belong to someone who lives in the neighborhood?  We are in a pandemic, the DMV is difficult to access, and parking permits are not being enforced.  So the owner of the car may have moved here during the pandemic, and is waiting to update with the DMV (and may even have an appointment months out).

Weird thing was when a notice was put on the car that it was going to be towed- the owners came and cleaned out the car and then just let it be towed. (I’m at 100 block of 13th st SE FYI)

I didn’t wait - yesterday I filled out a 311 request again to have the car removed. This time I added more information on the description of the car including that it’s tags and registration are expired. So we’ll see what happens.

Why wait?  Report it today by calling 311 so police can check if it's stolen - it has Maryland plates so they don't live here. The process may take several weeks for them to put a notice on the car to give the owner time to respond so it would be best to get it started asap.

I think this should be reported.
It could be a stolen and abandoned vehicle.
