[Lincolnparkdc] In support for the bike lanes on Capitol Hill

Charles Allen,
I am writing to state my support for what will be established, defined,
clearly marked, traffic-engineered bike lanes on *public roads* for Capitol
Hill. The planned bike lanes correct the long ignored inequity issue of
cars over  alternative modes of transport i.e., bikes, scooters. The loss
of a few parking spaces and occasional inconvenience of having to walk
extra feet is a rectifying compromise that car drivers will have to make,
just as bike riders have had to compromise.
I do not see much weight in the arguments that having additional parking
spaces will help in the reduction of street crime. Reducing street crime is
a very important matter but I do not see it tied to constructing bike
lanes.
