[Lincolnparkdc] Recommendation for "Rockstar" Mike - simple outdoor jobs

Heather, I am not certain it is well for me to comment or not. I think you are speaking of Mike Kuzawinski.

I would be very careful about offering him work, for if he is not on his meds a lot can go south fast.

He means well, certainly. And all you said about him is true, but in my experience he cannot manage over any extended period of time well, and certainly not be left alone to manage a task without checking in frequently or working alongside him to insure things go as planned.

Because he demonstrates a desire to do a good job and works intently, and certainly I wanted to help him by giving him work, I failed to appreciate his struggles until a can of paint was overturned on a garden walkway and I found him unexpectantly on a Saturday morning sanding down concrete coping and sandstone to remove paint he’d dripped on that when painting my iron fence.

I know his circumstances are fragile. I have no idea how to make his life different, or to help him really, and that troubles me, but definitely I will not have him work for me again.
