[Lincolnparkdc] Basement Renovation and Stairway Redesign

We are planning to renovate our existing finished basement.  One of the
biggest needs is to somehow redesign the current staircase to increase head
clearance.  The basement itself has adequate clearance but you have to bend
slightly to clear the last two stairs (and I'm only 5 foot 6 inches.

Am hoping that someone on the list-serve has worked with a contractor that
does this kind of work.
Would appreciate your recommendations.
