Subject: Heads UP.  80' (instead of 20') of No Parking Signs on 100 block of Kentucky @ East Capitol being installed TOMORROW


Today the Bike Lane signs were installed on the West side of the 100 block of Kentucky Ave SE as part of the Advisory Bike Lane project.  The DDOT contract workers advised they will return tomorrow to place No Parking signs along the West side of 100 block of Kentucky Ave going south from the East Capitol intersection.  Instead of 20' of no parking the workers said they will be blocking off approximately 80' (my best guess).  Currently there are six cars parked in the curb space that the contract workers advise will become no parking.

I do not know if there is a miscommunication between the DDOT and the contractor or its workers, but this is a critical issue that needs addressed BEFORE signs go up tomorrow.   Lost parking = lost safety.
