[Lincolnparkdc] ANC Endorsement of Advisory Bike Lanes on Kentucky Avenue

There was considerable discussion last night about community input to this project and the statement DDOT representatives present that the ANC had approved the project and therefore they felt they were proceed to implement it as they saw fit. 

Commissioners Jayaraman and Holtzman indicated that had they known then what they know now, they would most likely have taken a different position on this matter at the October 13 meeting. 

 I also learned this morning that the ANC felt it had only endorsed the concept and not any specifics. So there does not seem to be a meeting of the minds regarding where we are in the review process. 

So this also raises the question if or how was DDOT planning to get community input on the details. DDOT encouraged that the meeting we had last night be delayed until thet did  revised drawings based on the input they got from the ANC Commissioners at the October 13 meeting. Yet revised drawings that were circulated last Thursday are marked DRAFT FINAL PLANS 90% COMPLETE.  We were also then told given this, only minor revisions were being considered. This seems like a perfect example of playing „Catch 22“

If you want to have meaningful community input, you need to seek it when your at point your really prepared to accept it.
