[Lincolnparkdc] memory of island

Had to chuckle at "remembering ten years ago when they planted trees on our
beautiful island." I also remember the 8,473 emails that were exchanged on
this list because so many people didn't want those trees on it. Or were
worried they wouldnt' get enough water from the DC govt and they'd all die.
Or they'd block too much sun, or prevent playing baseball or frisbee, or
whatever. Maybe it's a lesson that our worries about these new changes will
eventually be forgotten and we will speak of the bike lanes with fondness,
I don't know! I am very emphatically not venturing an opinion here.

Also I remember the lovely wedding that happened on the island and I
thought we were supposed to call it wedding island instead of poopy, tee
hee. (I don't care, I'm just adding another memory.)
