Subject: Bike Lanes
Hello Steve,Has anyone checked ADA regulations to see how they would be impacted by bike lanes? My husband and I are concerned because if people take METROACCESS, HOSPITAL TRANSPORTS, CABS OR UBER, etc., they would likely be getting in or out next to a parked car. Obviously, people with mobility problems, like my husband, can not quickly jump out of a vehicle. In addition, I have an acquaintance, who lives in NE and is blind. He is well educated and can get around on his own, but he has told me several times that getting out of vehicles is his biggest fear, because he is unable to see anyone coming up between him and the curb.
In addition, should bells or some other noise maker be required on all bikes in order that pedestrians or people getting in or out of vehicles be alerted?
