Hi friends and neighbors -
A dozen of us attended an open meet-and-greet Feb 19, with Spiro Gioldasis,
owner of the much-anticipated Lincoln Park restaurant.
Here's an attempt at recapping what we learned at the meeting, organized by
ANC commissioner Chander Jayaraman:
TIMEFRAME: Spiro hopes to open the restaurant by summer, but it all depends
on permitting.
FOOD: Planning to serve family-style (aka as affordable) Italian food
modeled after Pacci trattoria http://paccistrattoria.com/menu/. Prices on
the Hill will be slightly higher. (We sampled in-house bread, caprese
salad, lasagna, meatballs, chicken piccata/milanese - delicious!)
HOURS: Planning to be open six days a week. Dinner every night, brunch on
the weekends; lunch and possibly breakfast during the week depending on
demand.
CONFIGURATION: Three floors of dining. Basement will also hold prep kitchen
and wine cellar. Main floor will have a full bar. Outdoor seating with a
few tables. Total seating: 100+.
TRASH: Planning six-day-a-week trash pick-up; enclosed space for trash.
COMMUNITY: Spiro welcomes community input and said repeatedly that he will
not be open late unless for special functions. He intends to be a
neighborhood restaurant where families - especially - feel welcome.
Thanks so much, Gabriella
