Thank you to all of our wonderful neighbors for your emails, texts, calls and the outpouring of support stemming from yesterday’s theft of our Suburban wheels and tires - second time this has happened in a month - and the smashing of our window.  Apologies for not responding to everyone individually.  

On a day yesterday morning where I thought about fleeing to the suburbs to hopefully avoid continuing to be the target of these thefts, all of your kindness reminded me of why the Hill is so special and why we want to stay here.  Today Council Member Charles Allens’ office reached out to me as they have been bombarded with calls from people outraged and upset about our two incidents in particular but also the other similar thefts that I understand are happening elsewhere on the Hill.  I hadn’t even called Allen’s office but apparently some of you have been advocating for us!  And the Hill Rag reached out as well wanting to interview us - I’m not sure who tipped them off, but again the community is rallying behind getting to the bottom of this.

Special thanks to Bethany and Jason for sending me their security camera footage.  The images from Bethany of the truck backed up to our Suburban stealing our tires and then speeding down KY toward Independence have now been shared with the police agency-wide according to the detective working our case.

Again, thank you all.  Hopefully they’ll catch these thieves thanks to all of your help, and hopefully none of you become the victim of these thefts.
