The Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Act, which WAS passed by the Council in June 2020 (the Council made the Act permanent in December 2022). It is important to understand that the spike in crime followed this change. Congress did try but failed to overturn this Act, which Charles Allen was instrumental in passing. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">2. The Council's attempt (lead by Charles Allen) to revise the DC Code, which Congress did overturn, with President Biden's assistance and Mayor Bowser's support. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I hope this helps.
