During COVID of 2020 (or was it 2021?--who knows?!) there was a huge open-air drive-in theater there, and even a bunch of moving, roaring dinosaurs that families could drive through and experience. Granted, those weren't so loud. But I think the Broccoli City Festival is also kind of cool. It describes itself online as "a Black owned social enterprise . . . that focuses on people and progress. We foster creative and community growth by building innovative experiences that intersect music, art and social impact." Their mission is to "mobilize our community to celebrate and advance Black culture and communities."<div><br></div><div>After the loud music last weekend, Capitol Weather Gang's Matthew Cappucci noted: "Why did so many people far and wide hear the sound of the concert at RFK stadium? Surface cooled off, warm air was left above, and that acted like a ceiling for the lower atmosphere. Sound bounced and traveled." Given the heavy weather today, that may be contributing. At the same time, lots of people celebrating in a space that is otherwise abandoned and empty can be, as I said, kind of cool.</div><div><br></div><div>DCist also reports that given the loud music last weekend bouncing and traveling around Capitol Hill, the Broccoli Festival will end at 10 p.m. tonight.</div><div><br></div><div>--Cheers from Jessie on 11th </div><div><div><br></div><div><br><div><blockquote type="cite"><div>On May 7, 2022, at 7:52 PM, Eli Rosenfeld <<a href="mailto:rosenfeld.eli@gmail.com" target="_blank">rosenfeld.eli@gmail.com</a>> wrote:</div><br><div><div dir="auto">If you are enjoying the music, you are in luck!
