I also observed a surveyor doing transit work near the island at the south end of the 100 block of Kentucky. <div><br></div><div>I approached both. What I learned primarily from the former is that PEPCO is apparently planning a major rebuild of the electrical distribution system in the 100 block of Kentucky and 200 block of 13th. (Where they plan to go north or south of this I do not know.)</div><div><br></div><div>Couldn’t get a real answer to when this might happen, but got the impression a start date six months from now might be a reasonable guess. It is clearly a major project as they are using the interim time to do detailed engineering drawings and they paid to do a detailed survey to make they knew exactly where thongs really are. </div><div><br></div><div>Has me thinking about two things. </div><div><br></div><div>Doesn’t appear PEPCO and DDOT work together too well or they wouldn’t have repaved 100 block of Kentucky this past summer. </div><div><br></div><div>Does it make sense to proceed with Advisory Bike Lanes till this over. Both means most everything they will do will be torn up and bike lanes will be disturbed or impossible to use while construction is occurring. Also, I suspect even more parking spaces be lost while construction is occurring. Also can’t get valid trial data if everything else is being disturbed. </div><div><br></div><div>John</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br><div dir="ltr"><div>John F <span style="font-size: 13pt;">Hirschmann </span></div><div>hirschj154@gmail.com</div>Sent from my iPad</div><div dir="ltr"><br><blockquote type="cite">On Dec 10, 2020, at 10:53, Sandra Caron George <sandracgeorge@gmail.com> wrote:<br><br></blockquote></div><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr">Does anyone know what all of the utility markings on the street, sidewalks, and in some front yards on the east side of the 100 block of Kentucky are for? We have a variety of colors in our front yard as do a few other neighbors, flags marking gas lines, and lots of marks on the sidewalk. We had our lead service pipe replaced a couple of months ago along with other neighbors and have no idea why they’d be back out here. The markings have shown up gradually over the last couple of weeks. <div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Sandra</div>
