You have my full support. I live between 11th and 12th (closer to 12th) on East Capitol, SE and have taken my life and my puppy’s life in hand when crossing on East Cap at 12th to Lincoln Park, or when crossing 12th street to continue on East Cap. Cars swerve around that corner almost never stopping and get caught in the middle of the cross walk. <div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">As traffic light was indeed expensive what about a simple stop sign at 12th and East Cap. Just thinking out loud. Ideas aren’t decisions but something does need to get done.<div class="">With thanks, Mia<br class=""><div><br class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><div class="">Begin forwarded message:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;" class=""><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 1.0);" class=""><b class="">From: </b></span><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif;" class="">Eli Rosenfeld <<a href="mailto:rosenfeld.eli@gmail.com" class="">rosenfeld.eli@gmail.com</a>><br class=""></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;" class=""><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 1.0);" class=""><b class="">Subject: </b></span><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif;" class=""><b class="">[Lincolnparkdc] 12th St and East Capitol St SE crosswalk into Lincoln Park</b><br class=""></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;" class=""><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 1.0);" class=""><b class="">Date: </b></span><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif;" class="">November 26, 2020 at 9:50:12 AM EST<br class=""></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;" class=""><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 1.0);" class=""><b class="">To: </b></span><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif;" class=""><a href="mailto:LincolnParkDC@lincolnparkdc.info" class="">LincolnParkDC@lincolnparkdc.info</a><br class=""></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;" class=""><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 1.0);" class=""><b class="">Reply-To: </b></span><span style="font-family: -webkit-system-font, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif;" class=""><a href="mailto:lincolnparkdc@lincolnparkdc.info" class="">lincolnparkdc@lincolnparkdc.info</a><br class=""></span></div><br class=""><div class=""><div dir="ltr" class="">Good Morning Neighbors and Happy Thanksgiving,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I am currently in the process of requesting the DC Department of Transportation conduct a Traffic Safety Assessment for the crosswalk at the intersection of 12th St and East Capitol St SE, crossing into the southside of Lincoln Park. I've only been living in the neighborhood for a little over a year, but I go to the park everyday and regularly cars zoom by as I attempt to cross the street safely. As a driver, I always come to a stop and turn on my alert lights to warn other drivers as pedestrians cross, however, I understand that people who do not live in the neighborhood may not be as aware of the safety problem associated with this crosswalk.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Before submitting the application I just wanted to reach out and hear from my neighbors, most of whom have lived in the neighborhood for many more years.
