I came across the following link which is extremely relevant as it directly addresses plans to add an Advisory Bike Lane to E Street SE. </div><div><br></div><div>I was very surprised to learn that ANC6B took the initiative and went to DC DOT to propose advisory bike lanes be added to E Street. The story also confirms what I have now learned that Kentucky, Tenneesee, 12th SE and brand new news to me, North Carolins (don’t know if NE or SE) are also being considered for Advisory Bike Lanes. </div><div><br></div><div>The story acknowledges this is the only place in DC it is being done and that it is an EXPERIMENT that includes the involvement of US DOT. </div><div><br></div><div>I‘m unaware of any outreach to the community that was done last spring to see if the community most directly impacted would support this proposal before the request was made to DDOT. I am also wondering how well the ANC Commissioners understood all its implications, before they endorsed the request.</div><div><br></div><div>I note the story and comments on it were posted on March 11, 2020. That is the day the country started shutting down for COVID with all sports competition ending by the next day. So clearly people‘s attention shifted quickly. </div><br><a href="https://ggwash.org/view/76601/experimental-advisory-bike-lanes-great-weight-e-street-capitol-hill">https://ggwash.org/view/76601/experimental-advisory-bike-lanes-great-weight-e-street-capitol-hill</a><div><br></div><div>John</div><div><br><div dir="ltr"><div>John F <span style="font-size: 13pt;">Hirschmann </span></div><div>hirschj154@gmail.com</div>Sent from my iPad</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></body></html>
