[Lincolnparkdc] Clarification on Lincoln Park Listserv vs Newsletter recently advertised

Absolutely folks should definitely decide on their own.

But it seems like there was confusion.

So, again, if you're here for plumber recommendations and borrowing folding chairs for your Thanksgiving dinner, no need to act yet - please stay tuned while we figure out a transition. 5 of us (I'm one of the volunteers) have expressed interest in keeping this Lincoln Park listserv going (in the same neighborly, not anonymous, and low moderation spirit).

If you're looking for anonymous takes (IMO negative) on the community, then by all means, the blog/newsletter is a good place.

If you're looking for both, you can have it all - it's *still* a free country... just know what you're signing up for. ☮✌

Fearmongery?

Letting neighbors know about the passing of those who live quietly in the community, or how to sign up to take care of the urns in lincoln park or about actual local news (ex: targeting LGBTQI residents so we know to stand by and advocate especially loudly) or documentary shorts featuring local residents, or books written be residents doesn’t seem fearmongery.

As you note, folks should definitely make their own decisions.

Someone else, I believe James Grimaldi (friendsofcapitolhillparks at gmail.com<mailto:friendsofcapitolhillparks at gmail.com>) - (Hi James!), invited folks to sign up for a(?) /his(?) newsletter (https://maryfarran.substack.com/). It looks like you can sign up for the newsletter there. It's not a listserv where we can all post, but rather, a (by looks of the archives) "fearmongery" blog with a dark view of the neighborhood.

Just wanted to make sure we understand what we are wanting to sign up for. You can check stuff out for yourself and make your own decisions.
