[Lincolnparkdc] Clarification on Lincoln Park Listserv vs Newsletter recently advertised

Hi Neighbors,

I was confused about the "please sign me up" email traffic since our fearless leader, Tom sent the retirement message indicating changes to the listserv. Here's what I think is happening, so we all know what we're signing up for.

On Listserv:

Those of us who responded to Tom that we are interested in filling his shoes will be meeting next week to understand what that would take and talk about the next steps
  *
Next steps could be: 1- we (multiple folks) assume responsibility for hosting and moderating the existing listserv and no one misses a beat; OR 2 - we set up a new listserv with several moderators and migrate everyone over to that.

On Newsletter:
Someone else, I believe James Grimaldi (friendsofcapitolhillparks at gmail.com) - (Hi James!), invited folks to sign up for a(?) /his(?) newsletter (https://maryfarran.substack.com/). It looks like you can sign up for the newsletter there. It's not a listserv where we can all post, but rather, a (by looks of the archives) "fearmongery" blog with a dark view of the neighborhood.

Just wanted to make sure we understand what we are wanting to sign up for. You can check stuff out for yourself and make your own decisions.
