Sharon,The district's plans likely will change as a result of the snow, but tree boxes are the appropriate place for leaves and they are supposed to be unbagged.Poor timing , but our section is coming up for leaf collection #2 in one week (plans may change due to the snow).copied from DPW site
| Message | Due to inclement snow and winter weather conditions, the second pass for leaf collection in Section B will now begin on Monday, January 13, 2025. Residents in Section B should have their leaves raked to the tree box or curbside by Sunday, Jan 12, 2025" |

Neighbors - someone dumped a full left/lawn bag into the treebox at the corner of East Capitol and Kentucky, next to our Christmas tree. As you know, the trash folks will not pick these up without a special request, so Frank is instead dragging it into our garage so it doesn't disintegrate in tonight's snow and then I guess we're going to have to do the special pick-up request. *Please* don't leave leaf/lawn bags in your neighbors' treeboxes in the hopes that the trash guys will get them, much less next to our Xmas tree which isn't even a trash pickup site. Thanks. (And vent officially over.) Sharon & Frank, E. Cap. & Kentucky Ave._______________________________________________
