[Lincolnparkdc] Meet and Greet for ANC 6B06 Candidate Burl Haigwood

I would like to post the following on the Lincoln Park Listserv. I make this request which is similar to a post made a couple of weeks ago for candidate Anna Krebs.

Dear Neighbors,

I would like to personally invite you to a meet and greet that I am cohosting this Saturday, October 19 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm for ANC 6B06 candidate Burl Haigwood at 111 15th Street SE. Burl and his spouse, Patty, have lived on Capitol Hill for over 20 years and raised their 2 children near Lincoln Park so he knows our community personally. Since they returned to a new home on 15th Street after a short stint out of state, Burl has been an active member in 6B06. I have had the opportunity to work with him to convene community meetings with MPD after several shootings that occurred around 15th & Independence Avenue, cohosting community events such as the Meet the Neighbors block party and neighborhood cleanups, and tackling the challenges of the ever-growing rodent population around the block. He also understands the importance of our local small businesses and the role of the ANC in advocating for their success.

Given the number of Commissioners who are leaving ANC 6B, it is even more important that we have a representative who has broad experience and knowledge to be our next representative.  So, I invite you to meet Burl and share your priorities with him and hear about his vision to bring people together, tackle the issues facing our neighborhood and strengthen our community.
