The 97 was discontinued back in 2020 (heartbreaker as it was a perfect school bus for my kids).

It also looks like it will be renamed the D24 and will be low frequency at 30 minutes between buses. The 97 will also be removed which is our rush hour bus.

As part of Metro's "Better Bus" initiative, Metro would eliminate the 96 route starting in 2025. Those of us around Lincoln Park would be left with just the D6 (to be relabeled the D24) for public transportation to Union Station. In addition to being slow and too far north, the D6 (new D24) would also be extended east of the river, which would worsen the existing overcrowding the D6 experiences during rush hour.
