Subject: Update: ANC6B Transportation Committee Mtg on May 8, 7pm re: 13th/Kentucky/Independence Pylons/Crosswalk

Hi Neighbors,

Just to follow up on this, DDoT engineers will present the plans and answer Qs at the ANC6B Transportation Committee Meeting,
Wednesday, May 8 at 7 pm via Zoom. Link will be posted here: https://anc6b.org/committees-task-forces/transportation-committee/.

I've heard from some neighbors that you may not be able to make it, so if you want to share written comments, please load them here<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PWGzkGCYhI7ruHuVsM_0SvAcdoPgNnyJ?usp=drive_link> and I'll get them to Matt LaFortune, who chairs the ANC6B Transportation Committee (the DDoT notice is odd in that it doesn't seem to have a digital destination for comments!).

Thanks,
Sandra

Dear neighbors,

DDOT has finally moved forward with the plans to create better and safer crosswalks - and get rid of the plastic pylons - that they'd committed to three years ago when they first put them in. If you recall, this was the project where I was able to add funding into the DDOT budget to make sure what they said was going to be temporary pylons would actually be so. It's part of a larger push to convert many of the temporary pylons into permanent safety improvements rather than leave the pylons in place - something I strongly support. Attached is DDOT's formal notice and public comments are welcome back to them until May 6th. The attachment has all the details and the drawing for their work - and does not appear to remove any existing parking but would make pedestrian crossings in the neighborhood much, much safer. I've also included the plan below. I know I don't have every neighbor's information on here, but I wanted to include several of you that I remember talking and emailing with about this at the time - and please feel free to share with neighbors and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks again,
Charles Allen
