[Lincolnparkdc] Smashed glass and recycling on NYE

Thanks Jessica-
I've been on the receiving end of gross stuff in our can too, and I am so
sorry that happened to you. Hosing out maggots from your trash is one of
the absolute worst things ever. And it's why we pretty much never put our
trash in anyone's can, I totally get it. This time was a result of the
unannounced pick up on Monday Dec 26th that no one was expecting, well at
least not us. And that's a good suggestion about the cameras-if anyone has
footage that they don't mind checking I would appreciate having it.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was our recycling, which had boxes with
our address on it, that ended up smashed in our backyard, I too would have
chalked it up to rowdy partiers or a mentally unstable random person
smashing bottles in the alley. Now I just think it's a mentally unstable
person who lives around the block.
Also, FWIW I've always felt like if any neighbor wants to come at me for
*anything* trash cans, bike lanes, whatever, I am right here and not afraid
to have a conversation about it. I'd rather not have to sweep up glass
because someone is too much of a coward to say that it made them so angry
that they almost smashed my patio door.
