Hey neighbors - as many of you know, we've been hosting one of the
neighborhood little free libraries for a lot of years. We're so grateful
for people who add books and also work hard to curate and mix so that there
is usually a nice selection.
Unfortunately, we've had two instances in this past week of someone
vandalizing the library. A week ago, we had someone leave a very large
sticker with writing on it on the glass front of the box. We were able
with considerable work to get it off without damaging our library, which
was a treasured gift from a family member who made the stained glass for us
but isn't around to fix it. Apparently, today that the same person came
back and left us two stickers, just to double the fun.
Whoever it is seems to have access to postal service priority stickers and
pretty distinctive handwriting. I get that teenagers have high spirits
(having raised mine on this block), but I'm super-sad to see this and would
really appreciate any help in getting this stopped. We spent about an hour
a week ago trying to get the single sticker off without scratching the
stained glass, and this new set of stickers covers the whole thing and I am
literally beside myself how to go about getting it off without damage.
Thanks much
