[Lincolnparkdc] Inspire?

Don’t buy something just because someone comes to your door selling it.  While this guy is not a complete scam, as in you won’t get anything for your money, he may not be offering a good deal.

DC used to have a great site for comparing electricity prices, but I can’t find it.  The best I can find is this site: https://doee.dc.gov/service/energychoice.  Make sure to check the links for lists of suppliers and the links on the left for other DC sites.  Also see https://dcpowerconnect.com/, but I’m not sure who runs that site and if they have an agenda, but they are linked from the DC Public Service Commission at https://dcpsc.org/Consumers-Corner/Service-Providers/Choose-an-Electric,-Natural-Gas-Telecom.aspx.  You should be able to compare prices at http://search.dcpowerconnect.com/search-offers.  Inspire isn’t listed, so it may be new or may have changed names recently.

And just to put in a plug: while most people choose the CHEAPEST electric supplier, you might want to consider paying a little more to get the CLEANEST one.  I have had good luck with Clean Choice and WGL as suppliers.

Scam isn’t the right word. (Well, it’s not like I have seen the “clean” sources of energy they claim, but I assume they exist.) They definitely have a financial stake in it, but they really are just trying to sell you electricity.
