[Lincolnparkdc] Historical Article about our Neighborhood

Thanks for checking. I’ve seen many street plans, including when electricity came to this area, for example. I’m thinking that electricity and indoor plumbing were common in new homes at the turn of the last century. I did learn that, while new houses had fireplaces, they often (usually?) had electric fireplaces INSIDE the brick openings.

If they were filed with the building permit back in the day, they might exist--and would be at the National Archives in College Park, but chances are1 in 1-100 for that to be the case.

I love local history and If anyone on the list serve lived through this time here in Capitol Hill, I would love to have you over for a coffee, tea or beer and hear your oral history. I can also share mine, but I grew up in a cul de sac in McLean in the 80's...
