I learned this the last time I travelled, so I hope it’s helpful: if you have Bank of America you can order money in pretty much any currency and they’ll mail it right to your door. When I needed to get Turkish liras and Croatian kuna, the exchange rates were good and I was even able to request express shipping. You can also request a variety of bills.
