Thank you Sharon for writing, and I completely appreciate your reason for
staying in for the block party. Hopefully next year we will have full
attendance and Covid will just be another easy vaccine in the fall without
worry for overburdened medical facilities or of course loved ones getting
sick and dying.
Here's a couple of things I wanted to bring to your attention:
- Related to Sharon's comment, we are hoping to do an *order of block
party t-shirts* from Laurie Siegel's design all those years ago. If
anyone wants to volunteer to help coordinate, please let me know.
- We spent much more money on the block party this year than we ever
have in the past, so* if you haven't donated your $20 to the fund please
do so if you can*. It will be very much appreciated. Like the tents we
splurged on a few years ago, most of the things are one time expenses that
we can use every year, and they are safely stored away.
- We are considering moving the block party up another week to *Saturday
Oct 2* just to have the chance at a little more daylight, and also avoid
the federal holiday. The later weeks in October get more rain it seems, but
please everyone let us know what you think about moving the date to Oct 2.
Best,
Gina
