 Yesterday, I had a package stolen, too, that the shipper (LaserShip) placed in front of the door at 2:50 pm. The delivery person didn't ring the bell or knock. It was gone before I stepped outside at 4:00 pm. I filed a police report and contacted the vendor.
No, I do not want to reroute my shipments. I do not have a car and simply cannot retrieve everything on foot. I'd like to be able to receive goods at my home safely. Most of the other services (UPS, USPS, FedEx) will ring the bell and/or knock and will notify me of delivery. Theft has become so commonplace that the thieves don't worry about being caught. More is happening in broad daylight.
Highly doubt many of these stolen goods are discarded nearby. The authorities need to trail these thieves and find out where they're fencing the stolen goods. There must be quite a network.
