If you go the Apple route for a battery change it will likely be done overnight. However it will also cost you more than the machine is worth. You should be able to use their website to get estimates on time and costs either through flat rate fee list or live chat.
I am not sure they are still in business but there was a shop upstairs from Popeye’s on eighth street that did phone and laptop repairs. My guess is they would charge about 200 dollars for that task.
If you are the intrepid sort you can buy a battery on line for about fifty dollars. I can loan you the special tools to access and you can watch a video on I fix it.com to learn how it’s done and do it yourself. 
I assume you are getting a message that your battery needs service. Does the machine work with the charger and it just doesn’t hold or take a charge?
