[Lincolnparkdc] Window broken at Cap Hill Cleaners

I agree with this sentiment. Young has been a neighborhood supporter for many years. She even passes out treats to the dogs who come in. Even if they catch the guy who broke the window, she will not receive compensation. I plan to donate some money to her next time I walk by there.

Showing Young our appreciation is a great idea, thanks for sending this!

As you may have heard or seen, a large window was broken last night at the Capitol Hill Cleaners at 11th & East Cap. It looks like a pumpkin was thrown through the glass. As of now, the opening is covered in cardboard.

Young and her store have been an important part of our community for many years. The dry cleaning business is not good right now, and the cost of a new window will be painful, even if it is insured.

You may want to drop by and give Young your sympathy and a few dollars. I contributed cash to a "Window replacement fund", but she can probably take credit cards through the her register. Yes, it would be possible to set up a GoFundMe page for her, but giving a donation to her in-person seems more personal.

Or maybe just bring her your Summer/Fall coats to be cleaned before putting them away, and tell her you are sorry about the window.
