Hello everyone-

I'm putting on my block party planner hat now to remind everyone that
barring any major Covid Delta shutdowns, the block party this year is
scheduled for Saturday October 9. More details will follow but I wanted to
put out an all-call for any ideas or suggestions you may have for the block
party this year. For my part, I do have a few ideas. Such as:

   - Pet photo contest culminating in gathering photos for a 2022 Kentucky
   Ave Pet Calendar or something.
   - Updated t-shirt designs inspired by Laurie's design from 20+ years ago.
   - Photo booth
   - Giant Jenga
      - related: Does anyone have an electric saw that could cut 40 or so
blocks at 2' long using 8 feet long 2x4s? *We need 10 8-foot long
2x4s* if anyone has lumber laying around. This can't be too difficult
      right?
   - Traffic garden for kids on bikes to ride through a mini streetscape.
   - Cocktail hour before hand, with a share a cocktail or mocktail recipe
   contest
   - Badminton or lawn darts or bocce ball on Poopy Island
   - I'll bring out my Cornhole toss and very not regulation Ping Pong
   table.
   - Bouncy house but only if someone wants to sign the insurance waiver! 😉

I will meet with the rest of our Block Party Planning Committee to discuss
these ideas and any that you send in the coming weeks. So get your ideas in
now!

Also and perhaps most importantly, *plan on personally inviting one person
on the block that has never been to our block party. *Or for those who
don't ever attend the block party, what can we do or what would you like to
see that could inspire you to attend?

Thanks for your time, and please get those ideas in now! \
