Dear neighbors,
Until May 16, Avoid 295 between Nannie Helen Ave and Benning Road NE if you're coming home late or trying to head out early morning.
>From 9PM - 5AM - temporary both lane closures.
I suggest avoiding the area during those hours by using the route past Costco to get to and from the 295.

Temporary Lane Closures on I-295 Northbound and Southbound for April 26 through May 15, 2021
(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform construction activities along the I-295/DC 295 corridor beginning April 26 through May 15 2021, weather permitting. The following operational hours for each closure are posted below :
- Two lane closures on I-295 northbound and southbound (Alternating NB & SB) between Nannie Helen Ave NE and Benning Road NE starting at 9:00pm to 5:00am from April 26 th to May 1 st
- Two lane closures on I-295 northbound and southbound (Alternating NB & SB) between Nannie Helen Ave NE and Benning Road NE starting at 9:00pm to 5:00am from May 3 rd to May 8 th
- Two lane closures on I-295 northbound and southbound (Alternating NB & SB) between Nannie Helen Ave NE and Benning Road NE starting at 9:00pm to 5:00am from May 10 th to May 15 th
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
