[Lincolnparkdc] Final plans

First I would like to reiterate, again, that it is *NOT the advisory bike
lanes* that are causing us to lose space for parking our cars. Here's why
we are losing parking spaces:
- The *installation of the crosswalk on 13th Street*, which was
requested by many residents, and also recommended by our safety engineers
as a high priority the minute they reviewed the intersection. The design
for this crosswalk was chosen instead of another design that would have
removed even more parking.
- *Adding the flexposts *at the corner of East Capitol and Kentucky,
another thing that has been requested by residents, to slow the turns onto
Kentucky
- And finally. some of *the parking signs were also found to be too
close to the crosswalks*-and since people routinely park beyond the
signs, it restricts the sightlines of car drivers to see if pedestrians are
in the crosswalk. So some of those signs had to be moved to be in
compliance with current law that governs the distance parking has to be
designated at a crosswalk.
Here's some additional information from our DDOT wiki pages. Baseline data
was gathered (if you remember the cameras on our block last fall) and is
still being gathered but so far only E street has been installed. The
criteria for how these streets were chosen can be found at these links,
which I think Will went over at the Zoom meeting last fall.
