[Lincolnparkdc] D.C.’s New Vision Zero Law Could Be a Boon for Bike Lanes

Thanks, Mark. It seems NY and Cambridge made bike lanes and other non-car
infrastructure part and parcel of road, curb, gutter and sidewalk repair
and reconstruction. Judging from our case here, that is not part of DC's
approach. These bike lanes and other changes are being built on and around
pavement, curbs, and sidewalks that are in disrepair. I tried years ago
unsuccessfully to obtain curb and gutter repair for our portion of 13th St,
but it was never touched. In the meantime a bike lane was plastered on
top of it whose markings are now crumbling because of the poor substrate. I
pointed this out at the time but no one at DDOT gave a damn. This current
project will be more of the same hot mess.
