[Lincolnparkdc] Missing package at 156 13th St. S.E. on Saturday

Quite sure it has to do with performance measurement. I order a LOT of stuff from Amazon, and it often comes with "delivery guaranteed by 8:00pm". The Post Office will often scan it as delivered at 7:45pm but it doesn't arrive. One of the carriers said the boss told everyone that if there are packages still on the truck at the end of the shift, they were to scan them all before leaving for the day. Worse, instead of scanning as delivered, they will sometimes scan them as "no such address", "can't access the building" (a rowhouse!), or "refused, return to sender". If I get a delivery confirmation after 7:30, there is a 90% chance that it is not arriving that day.

The package almost always arrives a day or two later. I can check my camera to see if the package was actually delivered and stolen, but that is much, much less frequent than a "faked" delivery.

If I get annoyed enough, I chat/call Amazon and ask for shipping credit; as a Prime customer shipping is free but they will usually give me a few bucks off. The main reason is to give Amazon a record of the Post Office's problems.

PS: My regular carrier (Wade) would NEVER pull any of these shenanigans, he ALWAYS delivers on time, but he does take days off sometimes.

No but they frequently report an item delivered and then it shows up a day or two later. They deny it, but I think it has to do with performance measurement.
