[Lincolnparkdc] Package Thief

You may want to register to get a text message when a package is delivered. You can register for free with UPS, USPS, and FedEx. (For USPS, search for “informed delivery”.) Amazon can also send you a text when your package is delivered, so you don’t need to register with the individual shippers.

In most cases, the text message comes within a few minutes of delivery. However, the Post Office is pretty unreliable (big surprise); they often scan the bar code as ‘delivered’ without actually delivering the package. But it is better than nothing.

Depending on what kind of door camera you have, you may be able to have it send you an alert whenever someone approaches your door. Turn that on when you are expecting a package, so you don’t get a notice every time YOU go in or out.

Knocking would be better, but they aren’t gonna do it.

So sorry this happened. What I find frustrating these days is that most of us are home, but the post office and other delivery people refuse to ring the bell or knock loudly on the door. If they are afraid to touch the door or bell they could wear gloves.

I often go out after the mail has arrived to find there is a package sitting on the stoop.

This clever thief stole the contents of one of my packages today at 155 pm in Broad daylight – please keep your eyes and ears open for suspicious activity. The person in question was clearly avoiding the camera we have placed at the door so that he would not be caught.
