[Lincolnparkdc] The young man and his living arrangements

Let's not judge the father too harshly for "letting" his son live
independently. You don't know the whole story. Maybe the son had been doing
fine. Maybe there are other members of the family living with the father,
who need not to be living with a mentally ill person who could be
traumatizing them. As the widow of someone who struggled with a downward
spiral into deep depression and occasional mild psychosis, I can testify
that you can reach a point where you have to look for another place for
someone to live rather than let conditions at home be such that a
responsible observer would have called Child Protective Services if I
hadn't. (NB he was not a physical danger to anyone.)  So, you have no idea
what that family is trying to juggle between caring for a disturbed family
member, and protecting others in the family from emotional fallout.
