[Lincolnparkdc] Update on disturbing incidents (harassment/intimidation) on KY Avenue...

Unfortunately another neighbor on our street (Tim Minnelli) had an incident
as well with the individual this morning.  He asked that I post an update
so folks know where this is at as we know others have been unnerved by this
as well.

Tim’s daughter and two other young girls who live on the street were also
harassed by the individual this morning.  Tim chased the young man down to
12th and South Carolina.  Tim flagged down some Capitol Hill Police cars.
They all talked and the police called the young man’s father to come pick
him up.  The dad was clearly worried and flustered to learn the trouble his
son has recently gotten into.  He may not have been aware of the hubbub in
the neighborhood caused by his son.  The father said the young man has a
history of mental health issues and had recently been set up in an
apartment by himself on 15th Street.  The father lives nearby.

While they were there a man drove up in a white truck and said the kid had
been giving him the finger and kicking his truck while he was driving
around Lincoln Park this morning.

It is unclear exactly where things go from here and what the father will do
in terms of his son’s living arrangement.  We feel for them as this young
man clearly has significant mental health challenges, but we’re glad the
father and the police are involved as we can’t continue to have the
neighborhood harassed and intimidated like this, particularly kids. Our
kids have all been shaken by these encounters.

Big thanks to Tim for chasing this person down and connecting with the
police on site.
