Thanks, Alden. Just an update for everyone. We filed a police report
yesterday after we saw him again. Officer said if we see him again to call
911 and give them the police report # and alert that it is another
sighting. The other neighbor who had an incident with this person on
Friday (guy harassed him on the street and then chased after his car)
spotted him about 15 minutes ago in Lincoln Park, and then he headed back
up Kentucky toward the Safeway. I don’t want to make too broad of an
assumption but he is likely mentally ill or on drugs. The officer (and the
1D police commander) said since no crime has been committed (at least thus
far, and hopefully not ever - although definite harassment and
intimidation), they will attempt to talk with him when they can find him
and connect him with the right mental health services if need be. I
called 911 as instructed 15 minutes ago, gave the description and location,
I’m hoping they call me back. We’ve lived in the city for going on 25
years and we’ve seen our fair share of individuals with mental illness
and/or on drugs. We don’t consider ourselves alarmists but something seems
really off with this guy and the harassment and intimidation is very
concerning. I would hate for him to do that to anyone, but particularly
other kids and/or someone walking alone. I’ll keep you posted if we hear
anything from the police. He always wears a gray/silver backpack. Kjersten
