Lucy,
I just thought you should know. My understanding is that DDOT also has plans to put an advisory bike lane on 12th Street SE at some point early next year. There's been no notice yet. I know nothing about the design, frequency of flexi-posts (i.e., "pylons"...but slimmer) or anything else. If I hear more, I'll let you know.
best,
Steve

I couldn’t agree more about how ugly the pylons are and how they’ve significantly degraded the appearance of our otherwise beautiful historic Capitol Hill.
They’re also more of a hindrance than a benefit to traffic.
I’d like to see them all removed.

Charles, We have grave concerns about the pylons proposed to create bike lanes on Kentucky Ave and 13th St SE. Not only are the hideous, they will not allow those of us who live near the corner of those streets and Independence Ave to park even temporarily to drop off passengers or goods. Three of the corner houses are occupied by elderly widows and this will be crippling for them. All the residents near the corners are over 60. Parking on out streets is already a nightmare and we sometimes have to walk blocks in the dark after finally locating a space. This is worse during times of street cleaning when we can only park on one side of Independence. Please do not let this go forward . It will reduce our property values and negatively impact our lives. Sharon Raimo
