You should comment to Will Handsfield at will.handsfield at dc.gov
I would write the most relevant ANC Commissioners Chandler Jayaraman 6b08 at anc.dc.gov Stephen Holtzman 6b05 at anc.dc.gov and Kirsten Oldenburg 6b04 at anc.dc.gov

I waiting to see if DC has agreed to extend the deadline from tomorrow and clarify some key aspects of the proposal.

The additional setbacks are needed for the safety of pedestrians who look both ways, regardless of the stated direction of traffic, and with parked cars encroaching on the corners (illegally) they are really hard to look around. At least during the day the people parking their cars will hopefully leave those spaces open, for the safe passage of older, younger and middle aged pedestrians.

And remember, this is public space, for use by all travelers, not just for parking and storage of our cars when we're not using them. And I get it, I really do! George comes home late from work A LOT, and he often parks blocks away. But just as we all choose our small rowhouses with only 2-3 bedrooms, we choose this minor inconvenience instead of a 5 bedroom house in the suburbs with a 2 car garage and an endless driveway for parking our cars.

It now has a clear bump-out that will definitely reduce the entry speed heading north on 13th, but I can see that also increasing traffic on KY as there's no clear barrier. If the intention is to increase bike traffic on KY, why make that the easier route for cars.

His answer was that about 10 feet of space at the sw corner of Kentucky and East Capitol which is now used for parking will no longer be available. He pointed out that according to DDOT regulations, the space there is technically not available for parking now but that when they do a new project they check the distances, correct signs, etc. and as a result that that space will be affected.
