Steve
This message you sent out last night just got forwarded. I don’t understand why what’s proposed to happen the Independence/Kentucky/13th Street intersection is apparently not being addressed As I wrote last night I see many spaces being lost, more specifically about 5 in front my home for 47 years, 154 13th Street Se, about 2-3 in front of Sharon’s home 157 Kentucky, at least two in front of 201-205 Kentucky, the “hammer” factory and at least two on the SE corner of Kentucky and Independence, SE
I can’t understand why this apparently was NOT discussed last night. Does Will not realize what is in the proposal he had prepared.
These clearly needs far more urgent discussion.
John

>> In regard to multiple questions I received from some of you earlier this evening, based on the preliminary design that DDOT shared today, I asked Will Handsfield, the project manager, explicitly, how many parking spots the 100 block of Kentucky will lose upon the implementation of this program. His answer was that about 10 feet of space at the sw corner of Kentucky and East Capitol which is now used for parking will no longer be available. He pointed out that according to DDOT regulations, the space there is technically not available for parking now but that when they do a new project they check the distances, correct signs, etc. and as a result that that space will be affected.
