I expressed concerns about loss of parking on Kentucky Ave for our residents who are mostly senior s or families with young children. Below is what I received from Steve.

Sharon,

Thanks. I do hear you.

The public comment period (Notice of Intent - NOI) for this proposal is open until October 15. I encourage you to write directly to the DDOT manager for the project Will Handsfield and express your concerns. Please copy me.

This is what I'd flagged when I originally sent around this last month. Several people from the 100 block have sent letters.

I've been linking up with Mr. Handsfield since this all became public. The main concern I expressed was exactly this. That we need to know if there is going to be any loss of parking by implementing this. I asked him explicitly to answer regarding the 100 block of Kentucky Ave SE. He told me that there would be no need to lose parking spots on the 100 block. That being said, I just got this provisional sketch late today and have not been able to completely analyze it yet (or rather I've looked at it several times but tried to decode it). Will Handsfield is supposed to be in our meeting tonite (which we're in the middle of right now) and I plan to ask him the question again and my views are going to be based on his answer.

If I was misinformed and there will be parking loss then I will send all of you an email immediately tonight.

   best,

    Steve

best,

 Steve
