Dear Neighbors,
Hope everyone is safe and healthy. With over 20+ years of consecutive KY
Ave Block Parties, we can simply not let Covid stop us. So, this weekend,
on *Saturday at 5 pm*, we, the planning group, want to propose a simple
Neighborhood toast to celebrate our friendships and keep the KY Ave
tradition alive.
We would normally close down the 100 block for this event, but with the
rules, in place, it is not an option since we need to keep gatherings under
10. So, we had to come up with plan B that follows the rules and keeps us
safe. So, a socially distanced Toast it is. We encourage folks to use the
day, like we normally would, to clean up their yards and sidewalks. A
clean street, sidewalk, and yard always make things better.
We normally have everyone come to 100 block of KY, after it is cleaned up,
but that is not possible so please join in on the toast wherever you may
be. Maybe we can get the whole Hill East to join.
Here's the plan -
*What*: The 2020 Kentucky and 13th Street Block Party Toast
*Where*: Socially distanced on your *own* front porch or garden
*When*: at 5 pm on Sat. Oct. 17
*Why*: Get to know and say hello to thy neighbor
*At 5 PM, on Saturday, come outside and simply say "CHEERS" to your
neighbors and wish them well. *
If you are not in town or out and about, please stop and wish your
neighbors well. They will know you are thinking of them.
We realize that this is really short notice, but we hope you are in town
and can join us for a little bit to say hello.
Hope to see or hear from you on Saturday!
Best,
Peter, Gina, Tom, Matt, Mark, Greg, and Stefan
