Neighbors,
The Ward 6 Public Schools Parent Organization (W6PSPO) invites you to Walk to School Day tomorrow at Lincoln Park or virtually via #GoodTroubleWalk on Twitter and Instagram.
When: Wednesday, October 7, 7:30-8:15am
Where: Lincoln Park (most activities near Mary McCleod Bethune Statue)
What: Physically Distant-Friendly Activities
* 7:30-8:00am: voter registration by League of Women Voters, election themed scavenger hunt, red light/green light, simon says
* 8:00am: a #GoodTroubleWalk around the permiter of the park to honor civil rights icon, Congressman John Lewis. Feel free to practice, using John Lewis' own words: "Stay in School, Exercise, Eat Right, Do Right, Never Hate, and Love - Let's Walk<https://twitter.com/W6PSPO/status/1308846714900619265?s=20>"
* 8:15am: if you have received your ballot and are ready to vote, join a (distanced) walk to one of the nearby ballot dropboxes (Eastern Market, NE Library, Rosedale Library are open)
* All are welcome to also join us virtually: share how you celebrate by sharing a photo and tagging #GoodTroubleWalk on Instagram and Twitter
IMPORTANT: If you join us at Lincoln Park, please wear a mask. Councilmember Allen's family has shared handy-dandy and fun best practices<https://twitter.com/W6PSPO/status/1313451332502728704?s=20>.
Finally, we are looking for 2 folding tables to help our HS student volunteers supporting the scavenger hunt keep distance from participants. Please let me know if we can borrow a table from you (I'll pick up this afternoon and return it tomorrow after the event).
Many thanks!!
Sandra Moscoso (100 block of 13th St) & Suzanne Wells (1300 block of East Capitol)
