[Lincolnparkdc] Lincoln Park's Lincoln statue

I would encourage anyone interested to read the first ten pages of David
Blight's biography of Frederick Douglass which gives an account of the day
of unveiling of the statue on April 14, 1876.  Douglass (a freed slave
himself) spoke that day.

I won't attempt to characterize Douglass's remarks other than to say that
the issue appear as fraught then as it is now.
