Volunteer Teachers of ESL Needed
Dear Neighbors:
This is my 3rd year as a volunteer, teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults at the Washington English Center (WEC.) It has been a fabulous experience!!! We still have a few openings for teachers in the day program for our winter semester. WEC is located just off Connecticut Ave., at California, near the DuPont Circle Metro.
Teachers work in pairs and generally teach one day a week, for 2-3 hours. No prior ESL or teaching experience is required. The school provides a syllabus, textbooks and workbooks, other teaching resources and periodic training opportunities. If you aren’t sure you are ready to teach in a classroom, come and be a tutor, a librarian, or an office assistant. We have wonderful volunteers, a great staff and fascinating and appreciative students who come from approximately 100 countries worldwide.
If you are interested in learning more about this meaningful volunteer opportunity, please contact Laura Lee Randolph at (240)243-2093 or lrandolph at washingtonenglish.org. You also can find more information at www.washingtonenglish.org/volunteers/.
ThanksRoberta
