Me, three!

Thank you, Jeni and everyone else involved in adopting the urns, clean ups, advocating for repairs, and generally being good neighbors and stewards of our local/national park.

Hi neighbors - I think some of you may have a misperception of what Jeni and others are trying to do. Almost all our local parks have a “friends of” group that help with clean ups and coordinating with the overseeing government agencies. There’s one at Marion Park, another at Stanton. Why not for Lincoln? I’m on the board of Friends of Kingman and Heritage Islands for example. We can not override the city’s and NPS decisions. We count mussels and install bird houses.

The playgrounds have unsafe and broken equipment, the square in the middle is a mud hole, and the benches are collapsing. A Friends group will focus advocacy on addressing these issues. You are of course invited to participate.

Hi neighbors. Is there a separate website so neighbors can voice opinions on changing the use of Lincoln Park and who will control the Parks use? Maybe more information on the non profit being formed to shape these changes?
Thanks, Lynn

"Changing the use of Lincoln Park" ... This is what I was afraid that a
proposed Lincoln Park non-profit had in mind, a back-door effort to
commandeer its use to someone else's idea of what it should be.

I've no idea of another channel to discuss this but any attempts to change
the use of Lincoln Park should be transparent.

I?m with you on this. Too often people just don?t pick up after themselves.
Coupled with the added noise. Due to COVID, many more people are using the
park. Maintenance, clean-up and the usual small local events are fine.
