[Lincolnparkdc] Safeway opens tomorrow!

Dear Neighbors,

I had the opportunity this morning to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the new Safeway on Kentucky Avenue — and was blown away by the size of the store, the diversity of its offerings and learning that the store employs 400 people.  In scale and sheer number of products, it rivals the new suburban grocery stores where I’ve shopped.  Safeway gave $2,500 checks to Hill Center and two other charitable neighborhood organizations and is providing tours and shopping for “friends and family” this afternoon.  The store opens for business tomorrow.  Welcome back Safeway!
