[Lincolnparkdc] Dog urine is killing our flowers

I don’t own a dog, but so many of my neighbors do, and the poor things need to relieve themselves somewhere. I have seen several of my plants ruined by dogs, and I know how frustrating that is, but dogs don’t know and aren’t trying to ruin anybody’s plants. 

I’ve tried to put plants in the streetside garden that are urine tolerant (if you google “plants that are resistant to dog pee” there are a ton of helpful results!) and to carve out some safe spaces in the treebox where dogs can do their business without damaging anything fragile. We all have to live in close quarters and share this space with our neighbors’ four-legged roommates. I know most dog owners try to be careful, but having walked a few dogs in my life, I know they have a mind of their own!
